The original color source is the inert gas, which produces a characteristic color when electricity is applied. Mainly the two common gases are neon, a mixture of argon and minute particles of mercury. Neon produces a fiery red, and a mixture of argon and minute particles of mercury produces a subdued blue. Clear glass permits you to see the characteristic colors produced by the gas. Glowing powders may be painted to the inside a wall of the glass tube and the source light is then transformed into a multitude of shades of color such as pink, turquoise, and green. By changing the mixture of elements, slight differences are possible. For instance, white is obtainable in a wide array of color temperatures from warm to cool.
Tubing is also emitted in colored glass. For example, deep clear reds, blues, and greens create the richly saturated colors referred to as standard glass. Colored glass may also have a bright coating, which can be able to change both the quality and color of the light. The effective result is a complete range of neon colors ranging from white to purple.
