Small business owners who are somewhat frustrated at not being able to attract enough customers will find installation of neon sign and LED (Light Emitting Diode) lights a simple, inexpensive and yet a magical way to make more and more potential customers take notice of their business. Installation of neon signs just outside your business establishment will fetch you a lot of publicity and consequent customer turn-out.
As is known to many, Neon Signs are made by bending glass tubes into various shapes of letters, symbols and designs. The glass tubes are filled with neon, argon or another inert gas. The gas is then charged with electricity which makes the gas glow brightly. Different gases, or combinations of gases, glow with different colors.
A LED, on the other hand, releases light due to the interaction of two materials - it is nothing more than a basic semiconductor. Neon signs, and LED lights consume far less electricity. One LED light gives the same lighting as a 100 watt bulb, but only consumes 24 watts. Leaving an LED light on for 10 hours would only be 240 watts. The simple fact is LED and neon signs are not only attention catchers, but they are also electricity savers. Many retail shops, business houses, wayside eateries are now using LED lights and neon signs to save on electricity bills as well as to attract customers. Besides, LED signs generate substantially less heat than incandescent and fluorescent lights, and run off of low voltage circuitry, making them much safer to use.
Difficult to believe, but even a simple innocuous one word "OPEN" sign glowing brightly next to the door can drive a lot of visitors into an establishment. Because the bright colors psychologically lure a person to obey the command. Conventional signs generally consist of a single word or name of the business or some very short message. Signs are now being used as effective tools for advertising, navigation, directions, instructions, notification and even warnings.
Businesses can buy LED signs that are similar in appearance and shape to neon signs, without losing any of the benefits of neon signs. But LED signs would still cost more than a comparable neon sign. The relieving factor is LED signs have a much lower operational cost because LEDs consume much less electricity. Furthermore, business houses can buy programmable LED signs to display messages.

Even at the outset, you should know that installing LED & Neon below Car Lights will require a tool kit and accessories consisting of an electric drill with drill bits, screw drivers, a marker, a center punch, electrical wire-strippers for joining wires, soldering gun and solder, heat gun and silicon sealant.
Before undertaking any electrical work on your car, you must disconnect the car battery as a safety measure. This can be achieved by disconnecting the car’s negative battery cable. Identify the place where you wish to mount the LED/Neon hardware. While drilling holes in the car body make sure, you do not pierce or damage any critical areas such as brake lines, fuel lines and electrical lines that can lead to avoidable repairs.Decide on a place for installing the tube, which should far removed from all fuel lines, exhaust systems, areas prone to heat, moving parts, spots where a lift jack will be used to raise the vehicle etc. With the car raised up on a lift or jack, try the LED light tubes in the locations where you expect to mount them. Strictly follow the kit diagrams and instructions. It is suggested to mount the led tubes centrally for optimal appearance.
The LED tubes should be mounted on the car chassis using the small metal/plastic brackets that are in the kit. Install the brackets on the tube and use the assembly to mark the locations where you will be drilling the holes with an ink marker and center punches them to help your drill bit. Carefully drill the holes for the mounting brackets and apply a small amount of silicon sealer to the holes before screwing in the screws. This is to avoid formation of rust. Initially, tighten the screws just enough to hold the bracket in place and then individually tighten each screw go completing the installation.
Identify a suitable location for the distribution block to be mounted on a flat surface in the engine compartment. However, it should be mounted away from extreme heat and all moving parts. Then connect each tube to the outputs on top of the distribution block. There are many wire extensions available in the kits from, in case the existing wires do not reach.
Thereafter, decide on a location inside your car to mount the digital control panel. You should choose a location wherefrom you can easily access buttons and functions.
The ribbon wire on the digital control panel has to be pushed through a hole in the firewall and plugged into the Input on the side of distribution block.Finally, the power wire on the digital control panel should be connected directly to the Positive side of the car battery with an in-line fuse a little away from the battery. The Earth wire or Negative ground wire coming out from the control panel that will need to be securely fastened to the car chassis.
Please bear in mind that the authorities resent installing neon or LED car lights on your cars. To avoid any possible fines, it is best to have the neon or LED lights activated through a separate button instead of having them glow simultaneously when the headlights are turned on. For this, you can run a power wire directly from the car battery to the kits operating switch, completely bypassing the car’s headlight wires.
